Taxi System in Germany
Taxis in Germany are cream-coloured with a white and yellow sign on the vehicle’s roof. There are more than 50,000 taxis in Germany and anyone can use them as a luxury car for their travels. Most taxis are comfortable Mercedes and Audis and if you want to manage a bigger load through a taxi, you can enjoy minivans and station wagons.
Basic Fare For A Taxi
Fare prices are set and controlled in a perfect way in Germany starting at 4-5€. They are charged on the basis of per-kilometer. As you can see in the picture below, the fare of 3€ is for the first 2 kilometres, and for the 3rd Kilometer, the rate is 2€. If you are booking a taxi for longer trips (more than 50 kilometres) negotiate the price in advance to avoid any inconvenience. The price for trips less than 50 kilometres includes a tax of 7% whereas the price for more than 50 kilometres includes a tax of 19%. You can also book a taxi for your international trips. There might be additional charges if you are travelling at night or have excess luggage. The meter must be visible on each taxi to measure the kilometres. Payment in cash is most common in Germany but taxi drivers are accepting debit cards too.

The charge for waiting time is around 40€. Waiting time charges are calculated on a per-minute basis. The waiting time charges per minute are 10 to 50 cents per minute.
